If you haven't heard of this small-town Kansas country singer yet, you don't know what you are missing!  Lori Janes, owner of The Cattleman's Resource, had the opportunity to meet and talk with Rusty Rierson at the Missouri Cattleman's Association 46th Annual Convention at the beginning of this month.

Lori also got the chance to observe Rusty perform live while they attended the convention.  According to her, Rusty has the musical ability to please a crowd of all ages.  Not only does he write and perform his own contemporary songs; he also brilliantly covers many classic songs written by country legends, such as Don Williams and Johnny Cash.  He has also produced a Contemporary Christian and Country Gospel album, bringing a southern feel to the standard gospel songs of today.  All of his unique musical talents allow Rusty to create the music of choice for any country listener.

Kansas music producer, Carter Green, states: "Rusty's big voice and rich arrangements are among the best I've ever heard in the music business.  A hardworking musician with an ear for authenticity and detail, his career is definitely one to watch."

Rierson says he hopes people will see his music as as breath of fresh air.  Rusty has produced 5 albums and 1 DVD. There are now more than 50,000 copies of his albums in print.

Rusty has performed all over the United States, as well as a few other countries.  He has opened for and shared the stage with legends such as Sawyer Brown, John Berry, Doug Stone, Michael Martin Murphy, 60's pop star Frankie Valens, Dustin Lynch, R.W. Hampton, Johnny Lee, Bill Gentry, Johnny Western, Justin McBride, Love & Theft, and others.  Rusty would definitely be a great entertainment consideration for your next event!

The Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Trade Show will be taking place at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee this year.  The convention will begin February 4th, and end February 7th.  Lori Janes, from The Cattleman's Resource, will be attending the trade show February 4th-6th.  Lori will have a booth available and will be discussing and demonstrating her cattle management computer program, The OrderXpress Enterprise.  We hope that if you attend, you will stop by and see what Lori has to offer!

The two best ways to get to The Cattleman’s Resource booth are shown in the image of the floor plan above.  Once you enter the hotel, head straight to the back of the trade show.  Once you reach the back, you will run into the Livestock Demonstration Area.  Head to the left of the area and make a left and pass the RFD-TV booth.  Lori’s booth will be on the left of RFD-TV.  It can also be reached by taking a right turn just before you get to the entrance of the second room of the trade show.  If you take a right, the booth is straight ahead.  Click here to view a larger floor plan.

Grass Isn't the Only Thing that's Greener!

This calf decided that the grass on her side of the fence wasn't worthy of eating, so she stuck her head through the fence to reach the fresh, new growth on the other side.  This isn't very surprising, since cattle prefer fresh grass, over stale, old growth.  However, it is what she did later that was unexpected and quite funny as well.
Picture
Despite already having two holes to access water from on her side, this calf proceeded to wiggle her head through a small gap in the fence to drink from the opposite holes.  How about that?  It seems as though, to some cattle, the grass is not the only thing that is greener on the other side. . .Water is too!
